Here's our plan... (so far) ( Saturday 23rd July - Updates in pink!)

SITE PREPARATION

1. Map the site. Identify vegetation to be retained and that to be removed.

2. Remove dead wood and fallen trees etc

3. Gather logs from the recent nearby chipping to form a substantial garden edging which will retain a good 15—20 cm of mulch. (approx. 70 cubic meters required)

4. Gather cardboard (from Lions Club warehouse, industry etc.) Stockpile in tool shed, or admin shed.

5. Put it all together. Major working bee , Laying out layers of cardboard, covering with 15—20 cm of mulch and positioning the logs to retain the mulch.

PLANTING OUT

Determine the theme / criteria for plant selection ( ground cover, mid-story).

Develop a list of desirable plants (our intention is to secure semi-established plants where possible)

Go shoppin !!!

This is a ‘work in progress’. We're learning as we go. Contributions or design suggestions from qualified or highly experienced persons would be most welcome.
